This Beat is an excellent car for commuting around town, and would make an excellent autocross car as well! Some aftermarket upgrades include Enkei wheels, leather seats, Momo steering wheel, afttermarket shift knob, and an exhaust system with an amazing note!
Honda produced the amazingly fun Beat as a Japanese “Kei” class vehicle from 1991-1996. The Kei class during this time required a maximum engine size of 660cc and output of 63hp, and 3-cylinders. Honda put it’s extensive knowledge of motorcycle engines to use by fitting the Beat’s MTREC motor with individual throttle bodies to maximize performance and efficiency, and can make it’s peak power at an impressive 8100rpm. Matched to a 5 speed manual gearbox with a final drive ratio of 5.71, and with only 1,675 lbs to haul around, it’s an incredibly fun way to scoot around town!
