In 1992, Mazda produced the third generation of their RX-7 (FD). It carried over many powertrain components of it’s predecessor, the FC, but added a supercar-esque bodystyle and tweaked the performance. With a 1.3L Wankel rotary engine, and a sequential twin-turbo setup, the RX-7 came from the factory with 276hp per the Gentlemen’s Agreement, but was easily capable of making much more. The RX-7 also utilized pop-up headlamps that were all the rage during that time.
